Each issue Writers' Forum awards cash prizes and publishes the winners of our short story and poetry contests.
General terms of entry
The Short Story and Poetry competitions in Writers' Forum have a rolling deadline unless otherwise stated. A story or poem that misses the cut-off point for one issue will simply be included in the next contest. The Flash Comp has a set deadline, advertised in the issue.
All entries must be original and previously unpublished – this includes newspapers, magazines, books and websites. Publication on private online forums that are password-protected and in private letters and emails does not count.
The judges' decision is final and no correspondence can be entered into regarding the marking, critique or merits of individual entries or winners. But we welcome feedback on the competitions in general.
By entering, entrants agree for their stories and poems to be published in Writers' Forum if successful. We have no current plans to produce anthologies but reserve the right to include any winning entries in any such projects in the future. Copyright remains with the author.
The competitions are open to all nationalities worldwide, but entries must be in English.
